    Marin fork identification please

Hi, years ago I removed this fork from a Marin and now I'm having a clearout. All the Marin Rockstar forks I've seen online have Marin decal all along the fork, but not this one. Also, it has a threaded tube. What is it? Thanks

My Scapin Oto's 2002 Columbus Nemo build

Made a few adjustments lately and I thought I needed to update my thread. I came across a pair of XT wheels and being half the weight of mine I couldn't resist. Unexpectedly they came with brand new brake discs; the seller either made a mistake or had pity for a cheapskate like me after haggling...

    Swapping brake lines

On cars it depends how worn the pipe connector is. That's the last bit which connects to the caliper and it's flexible and easily replaced. If it's not become brittle it can be left in place and connected to the new caliper without any problem.

    Swapping brake lines

Hopefully whoever fitted these brakes used a torque wrench. It's incredible how little these things (and most things) need tightening. Car wheelnuts are torqed (mostly) at 120Nm. If you try tightening by feel after using a torque wrench you easily get another quarter turn and could even get...

    Swapping brake lines

If they work like plumbing copper olives and have not been over-tightened, they can seal perfectly more than once. Never done bike hydraulic brakes before, so forgive me if this is wrong. With plumbing it's all in the feel of torque applied to the olive because there's no set torque. Hopefully...

    Swapping brake lines

Checked and mine as Shimano left and right, fixed reservoir, so can't be swapped. Spent some time yesterday cleaning and fitting an xt wheelset with panaracer tyres, then I run out of daylight. Got to address the brake swap another day. It's incredible how much time it takes to clean everything...

    Swapping brake lines

Hi everyone, On my bike I have the rear brake on right lever and I would like to have it on the left. They're disc brakes. Having very recently changed the brake oil, I would prefer not to do it again, so my question is: Can I simply unbolt the brake lines at levers and swap them being careful...
