    Help ID-ing full sus frame.

Hello - looking for some help in identifying a frame. A bit of background. I'm staying with my Mam, as she's got a multitude of illnesses, as well as early onset dementia. My wife and little lad help out. As such, my house at the other end of town has been empty for some time. A chap who has...

Raleigh Professional (Carlton) 1973- perfect for l'eroica!

I've got one of these, same year in champagne/black. Not generally a Raleigh fan, but these are an awesome ride. The BB shell is 1/2 inch higher than a standard frame, something to do with pedal strike. The chrome always goes on the crown forks though. I think they were shipped from the factory...

    Carlton racer

Difficult to tell with my uneducated eye, but are those Oscar Egg lugs? I know Carlton used them from time to time.

    Harry Quinn ........yeah right.

That bike was a Clements HQ, probably a rebadged Falcon.

    Parcelmonkey delivery problems.

I've paid about £25 for PM to deliver 2x parcels (2x wheels in one, frame and bits in other) with £300 insurance; delivery from midlands to south coast. They turned up refusing to pick up the parcels, with the courier saying they were the wrong size. When I contacted PM, they said the delivery...

Mercian stock alloy replacements for these, no markings, but they do the job fine.

    Harry Quinn dating and value

Frank Clements bought into Harry Quinn in 1977, but the quality of the frames was top notch until Harry retired, about 81. Terry Dolan and Bill Whitcomb were working there around the time and also produced excellent frames. These frames will carry a frame number Qxxxx. After Harry retired...

Raleigh Centenary 531 gold plated ***RARE***

Heard about one of these that was in a LBS window for years, never ridden; that had the 105 groupset too, I assume they came as standard. A company as big and illustrious as Raleigh, making their centenary frame and gold-plating it... to then hang 105 on it? Bonkers.

FS: 1976 Carlton (Worksop) Handbuilt 23" Road Bike £300

I don't think the BB guides are concrete for determining dates; my '75 Quinn goes under the BB shell, but the '80 Quinn goes over. Both dates have been confirmed by the manufacturer. I know Carlton did 'off the peg' frames, but I was under the impression they also did bespoke - in which...

    Raleigh Professional '73/'74. Full Campagnolo.

@Bagpuss That's a nice bike, I'd be interested in seeing how the geometry compares between the Raleigh Pro and that. The Carlton has braze-ons on the top tube though, where the Raleigh Pros from the early 70's (as far as I know) never did. @Dave That's a stunning Carlton. Being a...

    Raleigh Professional '73/'74. Full Campagnolo.

@bagpuss Yes, I've read about similarities with the Giro and the Professional, but all of the braze-ons are different, and the dropouts have no mudguard eyelets. I wouldn't mind comparing the two in the flesh if you didn't object - I'm close to Alvaston, Derby.
