Tommasini road bike - what's it worth.

Stedlocks - thanks for that - as nice as it is, it is just too small for me. I also don't find the time to ride road. Erring towards my mtbs.( inc one very nice retro Dave Yates Diablo) Where did you advertise yours? I will give the guy that's borrowed it first refusal. I suspect he will not...

Tommasini road bike - what's it worth.

Thanks all - that's been really useful. I'd describe the paint condition to average-good. Given a good clean and the chrome a bit of a polish it may come up alright. Quite right about the quill stem. It was just too short for me to ride & the bars were really narrow. I'll chat to my mate...

Tommasini road bike - what's it worth.

Hi I have a Tommasini road bike. I was given it by the previous owner of my house as a "thank you" for buying his glorified botched DIY project. I had intended to ride it but never really got round to it, favoring my mtbs. It is a bit small for me (est 54cm) and I have probably spent more...

Any idea what this is guys?

It looks very similar to my Bromwich frame (which is also hanging in my garage waiting for some tlc) The stop for the brake cable looks different- mine is straight but the rest of the braze ons look the same. Almost all Bromwich frames were made to order and as such most differed in some way...

    Treaded - A-head conversion

Thanks you have both confirmed what I thought. It just adds to the project cost as I now need to buy a new 1" treaded headset. :( . I do have the original unit but it is pretty kanckerd. I do have a mint flex stem that coud go on in place of the syncross stem I had been planning on using....

    Treaded - A-head conversion

Hi I am looking to convert my Dave Yates Diablo to a fully ridged single speed. It currently has a set of MX comps on and I want to put the original project 2s back on. Has anyone here used one of those extensions that allow you to run an a-head stem on a treaded fork and if so does it allow...

Hayes HFX9 Caliper (not retro I know)

Thanks for the offer but I have managed to source a caliper (which also needs a service as the bleed nipple is weeping)

    Newby Single Speed Conversion.

Thanks for that. This conversion might just be a goer over xmas. Kids permitting etc. I can probably bodge the chain rings onto the spider with an assortment of washerd filed on one side - I have a street / trials bike with a simliar bodge to take up the slack in the chainring bolts. As for the...

    My 1992 Dave Yates Diablo

Stu The stem on my DY pictured above has a spacer and I have never had any problems. The fork fitting was done on a budget so it was the cheepest 100mm stem that could go on the ahead 1" fork steerer!

    Newby Single Speed Conversion.

Ok I have to conceed it is getting sticky out there and it is taking its toll on my Giant VT2 - So as a winter hack I am thinking of making my Dave Yates into a ridged single speeder with flex stem an P2 forks. Havin never ridden single speed I am looking for some pointers. (currently Maz MX...

    My 1992 Dave Yates Diablo

Now i know why you did't want the Orange - The DY is a much more classy ride - welcome to the club - You gonna post us a pic? 8) & they way to owning and keeping many bikes is every time you buy one the other half has to be allowed an equally wallet emptying excursion (I bet she already has...

    Can anyone ID these bars?

Possibly - but whatever they were they were stuck on well. I had to cut them off in the end and managed to scratch one end of the bars  :x  I did have the same grips on my Bromwich comfy and they lasted years. I don't think you can get them anymore :(

    Can anyone ID these bars?

You find a hole in the time / space contiumn and create a temporary gap and quickly slip them on before it slams shut - but seriously the bar ends detatch using a 4mm allen key thru a hole in the underside of the bars. - have just manhed to scratch one end of bar cutting old grips off

    My 1992 Dave Yates Diablo

Hi I have just had to go out to the garage to check but mines Columbus Cromor OR. 18" - it ws one of Dave's Off the peg frames. I have knackered the handling by putting the MX comps on the front - it was never designed to have such a high fork plugged in. It is currently being used as a tug...

    Can anyone ID these bars?

Cheers for the answer. I suspected as much as there is a USE seat post on the bike as well. In its day had been built up as a full on XC bike 16" frame with a 300mm+ post sticking out of the top. Flex stem DX thumbies. The running gear has been replaced with cheep $*!t and is going in the bin...

    Recommend me some modern tyres

Tyre choice - 100 bikers 100 different choices My personal choice is Panaracer XC comp front Spesh Adrenalin rear. These seem to work in most conditions and a hell of a lot better than the Hutchinson bulldogs that came with my VT2

    Can anyone ID these bars?

I have been given this recently and am trying to ID the bars any suggestions. Ulta narrow with built in bar ends and retro annodised pink/purple. Trying to decide weather to keep for my Bromwich Cyclone project or to ebay.
