Re: Looks like a 92> Seat clamp ontop of the seat-tube is a 93 clamp. The 91 had a welded closure with a QR bolt through, 92 has the clamp on ring type.

Re: Thanks for the thought but needs to not be a comp if stumpy... I have an almost mint 89 rockhopper comp but frame is too big so after a smaller frame, the '89 rock comp and stumpy were basically same bike (diff peddles, saddle, tyres) hence why either is ok. Cheers

Found a set of P2's that were covered in rust spots and rather than bin them wanted to see how bad it was, hence I sanded them back. The rust is gone but the steel is left as pictured? Was thinking of finishing the job on lugs etc, sticking some kurust over it as a precaution then some coats...

Have you tried cleaning around the circumference of the piston with a damp cottonbud or little contact cleaner first? Only takes a little grime to stiffen them up
