First couple of rides in, new/old stem experiments. I’m still pondering the v-brakes or cantis dilemma, and trying to decide gearing; atm it’s 1x10 with a Dura Ace thumb shifter, but will prob go 2x10 if I can squeeze a f/der in w/out catching the rear tyre

I have a couple of sets of old Hope non disc Ti hubs, as well as their Pro 3 or Mono hubs in 135mm rear.

Built up for a test ride.... photos to follow. I’m still experimenting, like most of my builds. One thing I’m trying to decide is the balance of seatstay stiffness in the vertical and side to side planes (?). With some XT v-brakes I’ve got quite a bit of flex with the brakes pulled on hard, but...

More retro style.... My current WiP. Lugged steel, 650b, will have a matching lugged crown ATB fork. Trying to decide if it should have XTR cantis or Paul Motolites; Nitto dirt drop stem or fillet brazed ahead stem......; and splatter or grey/neon turquoise paint....
