The biggest reason was the rust spots, both under the BB and on the cable stop on the top tube. I loved the old paint (maybe not as much as some of you) but I wanted to make sure the cable stop wasnt going to pull off and didnt want anymore rust to creep onto the BB shell. I'm not trying to...

Update on this bike. Its now SS and powdercoated. I ummed and ahhed about it a lot but decided that I love what it is now more than what it used to be. The BB shell has light pitting but the rest in perfect nic, and i'm happy I did it. Changes are a plenty. Parts standouts are the Ultimate...

Agree with clockworkgaz, it will be fine when built up for a winter. It looks pretty great to me as is! I like that paint job even more without the other bits hanging all over it. Are you thinking suspension or rigid? Whats the plan to get the stuck post out? Heat?

That really is sweet! Have you had much experience with King headsets on rigid mtb? Do they stay adjusted any longer than others that you've used? I'm wondering whether or not I should swap out my logic for one...
