    Ritchey MountCross

No more H-Bars, single digit 7s, double chainset, xt front mech, now with locusts, and WCS bar. Wheels have been changed to WCS hubs, DT comp spokes and RR465 rims. Its about the same weight... the H bar was a heavy beast. Its riding well. http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnopower ... otostream/

    Ritchey MountCross

Here is another pic, more recent and a little muddier. Waiting on a flat bar and a front derailleur. But she is a very quick beast... climbs like a roadie and handles single track like a .... Ritchey :) Flickr has changed and I can't grab the right imagine location... so the link will have to do...

'89 Ritchey TimberComp - more pics

hehehe.... thanks for the responses! I've always pointed friends in the direction of this site for a benchmark of bicycle fanaticism and this thread has been a top example. Something that I wonder about is the stem on the bike in its first set up. It was non original and a real dog compared...

'89 Ritchey TimberComp - more pics

The biggest reason was the rust spots, both under the BB and on the cable stop on the top tube. I loved the old paint (maybe not as much as some of you) but I wanted to make sure the cable stop wasnt going to pull off and didnt want anymore rust to creep onto the BB shell. I'm not trying to...

'89 Ritchey TimberComp - more pics

Update on this bike. Its now SS and powdercoated. I ummed and ahhed about it a lot but decided that I love what it is now more than what it used to be. The BB shell has light pitting but the rest in perfect nic, and i'm happy I did it. Changes are a plenty. Parts standouts are the Ultimate...

    Ritchey MountCross

    What is this abandoned bike?

Giant! of course. yep, handing it into the police (or letting them know that I want to do it before I do) was the idea. Anyway, I doubt that I will get over there to follow through anytime soon, so if anyone here is from Sydney, its parked across the road from central (train) station.

    What is this abandoned bike?

I figured it for a miyata of some kind, and i wish i had taken more pics, but the street is busy... It's a 6hr round trip from my house, and I'm thinking of packing a hacksaw and picking it up on the weekend. Can anyone confirm? I've had a look at some catalogues and the rear dropouts seem...

    Who was your cycling hero?

Being a triathlete as a teenager, I firstly loved Jurgen Zack and Thomas Hellreigel... and Pauli Kiuru, but for his voice rather than his cycling.

1988 Yeti FRO - Linda Parker Special

I have no idea about the number of round top tubed Yetis around, but I'd love to see a close up of the non-drive side crank/BB. In a few of those pics, it looks like a seriously monster Q factor! I've not seen any bullseye stuff in the flesh, so I'm sorry if this is a stupid request!

    Fat Chance Yo Eddy

Agree with clockworkgaz, it will be fine when built up for a winter. It looks pretty great to me as is! I like that paint job even more without the other bits hanging all over it. Are you thinking suspension or rigid? Whats the plan to get the stuck post out? Heat?

    My 1988 Ritchey Ultra.

That really is sweet! Have you had much experience with King headsets on rigid mtb? Do they stay adjusted any longer than others that you've used? I'm wondering whether or not I should swap out my logic for one...

I've written four different posts and then deleted them... I am still miles from making up my mind. Its a nice decision to have to make, though.
