Well ive entered into the world of Tandems, Pashley

Re: You could look on the Sturmey Archer hub as they tend to have a date stamp on them, that'll give you a good idea of it's age.

SRAM Rival left shifter (Sourced One now!)

I need a left Rival shifter to complete a build, can even be one with a failed double tap mechanism as I have a working set of internals. Nothing too tatty or too expensive though :D OK I managed to pick one up so no longer needed

    braided disc brake hose

Should be more than enough, I did my Pace RC104 with 3m of it and that has the rear cable routed under the downtube and along the chainstay. Only tip I'd offer is to get it all planned out in your head exactly before you start cutting and installing barbs/olives because you don't get any spares...

    braided disc brake hose

I changed my Formulas to braided hose a while back. Superstar sell reasonably priced kits. http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_ ... cts_id=431 Looks like you need fitting kit 2 http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_ ... cts_id=430

    10 speed chain.

I've ran KMCX10-SL chains on my 9 speed MTB's since they first released them as they're lighter than a 9 speed chain. No shifting issues at all.

    Decent wireless computer.

Just buy a Garmin Edge 200, £87.99 from Halfords at mo. I've used wired & wireless normal speedo's and these Garmins are certainly worth the little extra over a normal computer. No wires, no setup, just stick it on your bike and ride, plus you can create routes and just go explore knowing it...

    Stripping carbon fork

I sanded my Boardman team carbon down (cant stand the HUGE graphics on bikes nowadays) and matt black stealth'ed it. As long as your careful it's pretty easy to do. I used wet and dry 240 in the bath 8) just making sure I kept it wet. Just be careful not to go too far, one tiny 4x2mm part I...

    Road bikes with disc brakes

I built a road bike with disk brakes earlier this week. Well it ended up as a road bike with disk brakes anyway 8) A friend had bought her son an old Boardman Comp hybrid which came with flat bars & mtb shifters, he now wants to start road riding and perhaps join a club but has limited funds. I...

Where's the best place for chain rings?

http://www.starbike.com/en/brands/specialites-ta/ They also sell TA rings and were the best price when I last needed some, fast delivery too iirc.

    Bioflex saddle?

Yeah they are very nice, it's my favorite saddle for sure. I run them on both the bikes I do the most miles on, plus I have another on my winter/shopping/hack bike. That one is the same shape and padding as the Bioflex but has a different covering on (it's the old Bikehut branded carbon saddle).

    Who uses x2 9/10

I've been running 2x9 on my XC Salsa for a few years now. 28/40 with an 11/32 on the rear, I find it depends on the bike/terrain you ride to work out the ratio that works for you. I just used to get sick of constantly changing from big ring to middle then back again, so an inbetweenie big/mid...

    Bioflex saddle?

Started using these a few years back and really like them, light & comfy and a good price. The 3 I have owned never weighed 190g though, they average out around 207g in reality. I have snapped one though, it lasted a couple of years on an MTB but finally snapped at the nose behind where the...

    31.6mm Inline (zero offset) Seatpost

Thanks for all the offers, may well get back to one or two of you. Just been offered a loan of one from a local friend though, so unless it's not long enough I'm probably sorted.

    31.6mm Inline (zero offset) Seatpost

I'm in need of a post like in the title :o Ideally I want a Ritchey WCS Carbon 1 bolt version, or the wet black aluminum version at a push. If not a tatty or cheap one will do (sub £10 would be ideal), not too fussed on colour/make/condition as it will be a stop gap until I find one of the...
