That looks great. I was set on getting my M1 powder coated but those pics are making me reconsider.

    Specialized FSR Team Downhill 2001

Wow, stunning bike! Always loved the colours on these, (the frame, forks and wheels). The tyres look in especially good nick considering they're older? Comp16s?

Bought the cheapest M1 on the net - help with ID and specs?

A red m1 is always a winner. Pearlescent white would also be nice.

So I bled the brakes, changed to some sintered pads and they're feeling pretty good now. Located the source of the play in the frame and have sorted that. Set the suspension up, just slowing the rebound on the forks seems to have cured the topout issue. There are a few future improvements but...

Also had a bit of trouble with spacing the MRP chain device out with the crank arm spider I had. I ended up turning the spider down and all works well now. After turning down:

    Orange 224 GBR

Have sorted a few bits on this recently. I realized that the front brake mount I have the for the Dorado's spaced the Hope Mono M4 caliper out to suit a 245mm disc.. After a bit of research I found that I needed a caliper No5 to space it out correctly to suit a 205mm disc. Unfortunately these...

    Orange 224 GBR

Thanks! I've always found the Dorados interesting. Was originally thinking of a set of white 40s but the prices have gone a bit mad. Think it's due to lots of people fitting them to electric motor bikes.

    Orange 224 GBR

Not everyone's cup of tea but I'd always wanted one of these since they released them back in 2006. Picked this frame up from eBay last year off a guy who refurbished it. It's been shot blasted, then powder coated using powder which was ordered from an American company that Orange use. New...

    Balfa BB7

Done a bit more with this, fitted some new Maxxis tyres DHF for the front and DHR for the rear. The 5th Element shock had zero rebound dampening so I swapped it out for a spare DHX. And got some new Nukeproof pedals. The rear tyre was a Michelin Comp16/dh16. I think this might be the original...

    Balfa BB7

That's right, a company (created by one of the Balfa co-founders) called Appalache made a frame called the Real.

They are Canadian! They are interesting frames - aluminium front end with a steel swingarm, high pivot and originally came with a brake arm. It's the heaviest thing in the world but I already don't think I'll ever sell it. And yes, the 6 pots front and rear, looking forward to seeing if they're...

Love that. Like the work bench too.

Was lucky enough to pick this up last week for a great price locally. Nothing like an overbuilt retro dh rig. First thing I noticed was that the paintwork is in great condition for the age! It is also (even) heavier than I anticipated. Haven't really had any time to give it yet, just fitted...

    At least it was cheap...

Can we see a full pic? I think this was my first bike, fond memories.

Ah I see. I've heard some people have gone straight to Hope for 6 Ti adaptors. Good luck.

Wanted Hope HBSP149:MRD adapter Mono 6 Ti to Dorado MRD

There's a guy selling one of these on the facebook vintage dh group, it was posted a few days ago with a few other items. Not cheap though, 60 euros I think

Azonic DS1 fitted to Marzocchi Shiver SC

I really like that, you've done a great job. Love the single speed, such a clean look. I also built a DS1 with Shivers a few years ago.
