Affordable Touring 700c Frameset V brakes - New - Recommendations

Thanks for an interesting thread. Last year, I was searching for exactly the same kind of frameset. New options were scarce, so decided to wait for something secondhand - such as a heavier built steel hybrid, or, touring frame with 135mm OLD. Locally, a tired & neglected 21-year-old Koga Miyata...

    Mudguard Recommendations please

Running Velo Orange aluminium mudguards on my road bike. They take a bit of setting up but have been great. Recommended. https://velo-orange.com/collections/fenders/products/vo-37mm-aluminum-polished-smooth-fenders

    Koga-Miyata TerraLiner-Alloy

Thanks for this Koga thread - an interesting read. Nice bike in beautiful condition. Recently found a later Terraliner (2001?): 57cm with a parallel 71 degree frame in O/S cromo. It wasn't in good condition & had been in a rainy environment. It's a versatile bike, but heavy. It'll need more...

Help please - 1950s frame - unusual braze on -

Several years ago, I bought this lovely frame. I'm attaching two photos from the original seller. V-CC input dated it as mid to late 1950s and most likely the work of Bill Gray: http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/bu ... lders.html The frame braze on for the gears levers was described as...

    Thorn Audax Mk1 refurb

There was plenty of room under the fork crown & rear brake bridge (50mm+). The chainstay bridge clearance isn't so good (I think it was measured around 38mm): but the mudguard was easily curved to fit, and the wheel spaced further back into the dropouts. Wheels are 27"/630 and tyres 1 1/4"/...

    Thorn Audax Mk1 refurb

I have VO 45mm hammered mudguards on one bike - they're beautiful, no rattles, and excellent coverage. Highly recommended. Yes, the leather washers are part of the kit and I used them for all the metal/metal contacts. They weren't too difficult to install - the spars are tough and a decent...
