Re: Katarga Pro Race, free courtesy of the local tip. This sort of thing doesn't normally happen to me so I was well chuffed! Parallax hubs, full LX, 7005 frame all it needed was some air in tyres and a saddle. Shocks are knackered but meh. Train station bike for now.

Well that's the point - for us bike fetishists it is interesting to see how we would fare, or indeed have fared, with just one bike. As an aside it also interesting to see how it correlates to the price. I have spent north of a thousand on a bike and several hundreds on a bike many times...

Re: Having seen your shed I concur, it is impossible for you LGF! And there is absolutely nothing wrong with a shed full of vintage bikes, I was mightily impressed with it when I saw it. But I lack the time and commitment that you have so I am thinking of the other end of the spectrum. But...

Anyone pared down their stable to just one bike, even if only for a while? I have several but am thinking that I could quite easily make do with my Karakoram (beshod with full guards, land cruisers and V8s). Very light, comfortable and does pretty much everything I require from a bike these...

Re: 26 inch-wheel road frameset Never run it with drops but I think it was meant to really. I find the top tube a little long for me in the current guise which is the main reason that I am selling tbh. My road bike is a 58 TT but that feels more comfortable so maybe drops would sort that out?
