    Orange Clockwork/P7/early steel frame.

Thank you. I've no preference on age other than it has to have a1 1/8" head tube as I have a set of F7 (?) forks with the rear mounted brakes to go on.

    Orange Clockwork/P7/early steel frame.

As title I am looking for an early Orange frame for a rigid build. Ideally a 10th Anniversary Clockwork but any 1/8 head tubed Orange will do. Any out there please?( I have seen the free one in the For Sale section, cheers)

Looking lovely. Perhaps with some matching red Ringlé decals for the stem from Gil_m?...

Wheelies - Who can do them ?

Yup. Still do them at 40. I learnt through grit and determination at age 11 or 12 iirc. I used to annoy many cycling friends by being able to wheelie pretty much any bike as long as the back brake worked! I've done them without a front wheel too although far from recommended. Not so good...

93 Klein Attitude - swap forks wthout MC1 tool

A press is better than hammering for sure! There is just very little to hold when pressing out the forks. Good luck.

93 Klein Attitude - swap forks wthout MC1 tool

I've done it although I was stripping it down for a repaint so wasnt too concerned with paint damage which I guarantee will happen. Getting it back together wasn't fun. Two problems with not using the correct tool are finding areas to press against (particularly during removal) and any...

1992 Alpinestars Cro-Mega. Now re-painted and nearly built.

Quite possible and it could have been reamed although I cannot see s step at the bottom. The post does go right down to the kink though and steel isn't that stretchy!

1992 Alpinestars Cro-Mega. Now re-painted and nearly built.

Thank you. It is quite firm but not solid and the elastomer hasn't perished or cracked so I'll leave it as is for the time being. To be fair they are a really good quality vinyl and come pre-cut with a backing paper attached which makes it easy. Paint booth was just a sheet hung up in the...

1992 Alpinestars Cro-Mega. Now re-painted and nearly built.

A few more pictures of it in a rideable state. I need to find some grips and away I go! Still to source: DX Band on front mech (plenty about, just not got round to ordering) Alpinestars Megalite bars Alpinestars period seat or a Flight maybe. Decent 30.0mm seat post Non rusty Deore DX...

1992 Alpinestars Cro-Mega. Now re-painted and nearly built.

Re: Re: Thank you, but if you look closely the paint job is fairly amateurish to be fair! Anyway, some more with a quick mock up. Must find the correct post, seat and bars, anyone?

1992 Alpinestars Cro-Mega. Now re-painted and nearly built.

Re: I wasn't completely convinced but went ahead and stickered her up, courtesy of Gil_M and Retrodecals. Great quality decals and a top bloke to boot. Followed up by the first of many coats of lacquer and dare I say I am quite pleased with how it turned out! I can't wait get her all polished...

1992 Alpinestars Cro-Mega. Now re-painted and nearly built.

Re: Well, after painting the stem and forks I was rather compelled to use the same colour for the frame accents. The grey (black) went on nicely but even in bright light it was still rather dark. What to do.......GLITTER!!!

Chain longevity: swapping chains or keeping same for longer?

I'd be willing to bet that 7/8 speed chains last longer too. I read an article on chain life a while back that claimed many top (road) cycling teams were able to keep the same chainings for a whole season with regular chain replacement. I bet they do a fair few miles too...

1992 Alpinestars Cro-Mega. Now re-painted and nearly built.

Re: Re: Thank you. Not that I am aware of. There certainly isn't a lot of room to put a long post in, indeed, the post that came with it has been cut quite short but still appeared to be inserted down to the kink. I think that either a post has been used far too high or, more likely...

Alpinestars Megalite bars and early '90's saddle.

I am in two minds about the original stem as I have sourced a mint Flexstem in 1 1/4" which many seemed to have back in the day and may save my wrists a little! I am definitely interested in the bars though. Could you PM some pics and a price if you are willing to sell them on their own...
