Re: I dont think it is either of those. there are no branded BSA parts. The Royal Enfield badge on my 49 Mayfly does not match the the mystery impression left on the head tube of the mystery bike.

I've just bought his bike.niy has brampton lugs, clip head set. Oval forks, straight tubes triangle. That's a shame as you undoubtedly have a great deal of knowledge to share that would benefit lots of people. If everyone listed bike manufacturer and model age if known serial number and location for each bike they own it would provide more data in one place than anywhere else online.

Hardly absurd. Huge undoubtedly but if individuals collated their collective knowledge it would be of benefit to all surely.

I'm looking for a comprehensive list of British bike builders frame numbers, their location and if prefixed or suffixed. Knowledge of how the frame number can be used to find date and other information would be great. I know there are a few guides on the web but they only mention a few makers...

I've just discovered that it has Kromo forks. I found a stamp in the steerer tube but no other identifying marks

ok. it's got no stickers other than the 531 sticker. benelux gears gb sports brakes gb bars stem and seat post brooks saddle etc. any thoughts about identity. it has 188 stamped on bottom bracket

I've just bought a Dancelli badged road bike as a gamble unseen. Unfortunately it is way to small for me at 49cm. Looks to be decent quality. Whilst servicing it I realised that the frame is Battaglin frame set. I can't find any record of Battaglin making Dancelli frames. Everything looks...
