Yes, I am giddy! I'm pretty excited about this bike. Thanks for the compliments, I enjoy taking photographs. It looks so much better without the slicks and bar ends. I'm enjoying the slow build...I mean, that's half the fun, right? Sorry to the purists, but the bike might have some subtle...

1993 Kona Kilauea won bike of the year. Kona sold out of their stock and had to release a 1993.5 model, mid season. I know this because I owned a metallic green '93.5 Kilauea, back in the day. Nice bike!

Re: The original Campignola drivetrain was still intact, but I updated it with a 3-speed Shimano Nexus internally geared hub, Halo rims and a Sturmy Archer 3-speed shifter mounted to the downtube.

Found in a barn, covered in leather scraps for 15 years, my updated 1978 Raleigh Rampar.

Re: In the long run, I would like to source a proper rigid fork, but in the meantime I have plans for a place holder. Currently being rebuilt with new dust/oil seals and topcaps, I plan to install this 1996 Marzocchi Z2, limited edition blue with rare disc brake tabs and upgraded 1998...
