    similar to an FW hopper i used to have from 1953. it was seriously heavy, but with a sturmey AW i could really get up speed and destroy other commuters. they used to look a bit horrified and scared. watch those rod brakes though, about as effective at stopping as putting your feet down...

    currently front and back are black - i swapped the front tub (gp4) a MA40 clincher. haven't got the rear swapped out yet, so stuck a gatorskin tub on there to prolong tyre life. but yes, needs to be consistent.

    it is completely original, with full nuovo record groupset. the only thing i've changed has been the weird cabling (all back to front) and the seatpost (was a top adjusting campag, now aeropost). also i have swapped out the rims from ma2 tubs to ma40 clinchers so i can ride it a bit more with...

    i did restore it yes, and it looks even more period now because i put a GB stem and maes bars on it. lost the box lining in the process, which was quite ornate, and i may at some point get it redone, but not for a long while.
