Manitou Swinger 4 rear shock query

Re: Hi thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it was me that was the unlucky recipient of the shock and I am trying to get my money back. Turning into a bit of an eBay shocker as he now is saying I didn't pay for it. Don't do cash deals with eBay strangers. It can all go really wrong!!

Manitou Swinger 4 rear shock query

Hi All I have just bought a second hand Swinger 4. I know, don't buy second hand shocks and expect them not to need servicing but I lapsed and thought I would take a chance that of course didn't pay off. So the damping doesn't work, a problem that can only be sorted out with a trip to the shock...

    Trek Liquid main bearing service

Hi all. I have just bought a complete nail of a Trek Liquid 25. The further I get into it the more seems to be wrong with it! So after spending far too much time on it I now need to change the main pivot bearing. Now there is a big ally pin holding the whole assembly in place that doesn't want...

Bontrager race lite mtb wheels- Hub Service tools?

Hi all I am looking for an exploded diagram of the DT Swiss hubs in a set of 2003 Bontrager Racelite tubeless disc wheels. There is a cone lock on the front which needs a special 4 pronged spanner to get it off without damaging it. Any info on how to dismantle the rear without mucking it up...

    GSB's Whyte PRST-4 build

One last know it all post on the re- build( sorry) On re assembly of the front end I have come across a touch of metal to metal friction on the top H section bearing carrier. After trying to think of some kind of Chris King style roller bearing fix- I have settled for inserting 4 Ptfe washers...

Re: I have solved the quad bearing carriage bearing extraction. Use an 8 mm drill bit/ flat drift to tap the bearings out with the sleeve as the tool. Just incase anybody else has this problem. Thanks for all your help. The bearings are now all out!

    GSB's Whyte PRST-4 build

Hi all- I dismantled and cleaned the rear Quad bearing carriages on my Prst4. They didn't need replacing but I must admit I was a little confused how you pull the bearings in the sleeved side of the carriage. There is nothing on YouTube about Marin's quad 1 linkage service. Does anybody know how...

    GSB's Whyte PRST-4 build

Hi all, Whyte PRST4 update- I managed to buy the Spherical fish eye bearing from bearing traders in High Wycombe for £12. On inspection the rest of the front end bearings were a little bit notchy, so I thought I'd chance my arm with the old lifetime warranty from Whyte. No reply from Whyte...

Re: Hi All PRST experts. I have a 4 that i am about to attempt a spherical bearing change. Is there a step by step on the web anywhere so i don't fall into any holes with this service job And FYI i have owned a PRST1 and a 4. Great bikes. Was always told to run the rear shock at the same psi...
