Can I get some confirmation that this is a Mk3 Death Fork?

The (almost) finished article. The positron cable snapped at the RD end on the way back from it's first test ride, gonna replace it with Dura Ace friction set. Decals were lying around for a while and need some regluing. Rubber bar tape to be added in order to keep the vibrations from the...

Help in identifying Dura Ace components?

I'm waiting on delivery of some Dura Ace parts and am wondering if they are from different groupsets. The FD has the cut outs which look similar to those from the Dura Ace 1973 set but it doesn't look like it's that old. The RD looks like it's from a later set I'm thinking. Any information would...

Can I get some confirmation that this is a Mk3 Death Fork?

It did, thanks, Mk3 confirmed. I'll now have to look up what headset Viscount used for the forks. There's no slot for a retaining washer to fit into. Everything about the bike is a brain teaser.

Can I get some confirmation that this is a Mk3 Death Fork?

It's a 76 Viscount Victor, took a bit of time and research to finally identify the model. The first thing that struck me was the lugs on the head tube but the rest of the frame is fillet braised.

Quill stem with the longest reach?

Thanks for the offer but I'm looking at buying a bigger frame.

Quill stem with the longest reach?

I was talking to the seller last week, top tube 54cm, it's shorter than the Mercian in length. I would have bought that frame in a heartbeat, it looks great. I'm really surprised at some of the dimensions in frames. I've seen 63cm seat tubes with 54cm top tubes, it's hard to imagine someone...

Can I get some confirmation that this is a Mk3 Death Fork?

Yeah there's something that looks like a shim in there alright. The overall fork feels solid, I wouldn't have thought it was aluminium until I began reading up on Lambert/Viscount.

Quill stem with the longest reach?

I've had a look through both sites, a little bit above my budget. I really like the Romani pictured above, seems like a good frame from a lesser known builder.

Quill stem with the longest reach?

Yeah, I've looked at that bike, it's basically the same size as my own. Top tube 57cm, it's a couple of cm to short. Thanks for the heads up though.

Quill stem with the longest reach?

I've been searching quite a lot, seems like 59cm top tube frames are very few. I searched through 75 pages on ebay and found two 59cm TT that were at the limit of my budget, (including postage), see below. Are there any good sites for buying vintage frames? I've searched through the for sale...

Can I get some confirmation that this is a Mk3 Death Fork?

No heat was used in preparation for paint, just in case it weakened them.

Can I get some confirmation that this is a Mk3 Death Fork?

Coming to the end of getting a Viscount/Lambert or Lambert/Viscount back on the road. While trying to ID the frame and forks a couple of years ago I found out that it was equipped with an Aluminium fork. I've since read about the 3 types and am pretty sure this is a Mk3. Would like to get some...

Quill stem with the longest reach?

Yeah, it's a head wrecking heart breaker though, a Mercian is the bike I've wanted since I was a kid, so much so that I never measured the top tube when buying, a mistake never to be repeated. I'm gonna give it a couple of days before I make any drastic moves.

Quill stem with the longest reach?

Through measuring the bike against one that fits its height as well as length that's the problem. The extra reach won't fix the problem. Thanks for the offer all the same.

Quill stem with the longest reach?

I tried that today, put the Mercian upside down on top of the Raleigh, there is 4cm difference in reach. The bar height difference between the two is over 5cm. I'm definitely in the market for a bigger frame. Thanks again for the info.

Wanted 59/60 cm CTC top tube vintage frame

70's to late 80's would be the preferred era. Steel, Reynolds or Columbus, sorry I'll edit the post to include this info.

Quill stem with the longest reach?

All the measuring I've been doing and never thought to compare the bikes side by side. I'll definitely try that, thanks for the tip.

Quill stem with the longest reach?

I've found a couple more, if anyone has any thoughts on them I'd love to hear your opinion. The ITM stem is +17°, would that mean a slight raise on the bars?
