Nigel Dean 653 repair and build

Riding again Sorry yes been away. It's done, and initial photos are here: http://velospace.org/node/17174 Yes I used a bit of waxoyl where I could get it, and I've left a small drain hole in the cinelli bottom bracket (where the screw goes in to hold the cable guide). Downtube replaced...

Nigel Dean 653 repair and build

Too late, if it goes again I might, but if it works, it'll be worth it for sure. The other tubes seemed ok internally. Seeing as though I'm not the lightest, it's either going to last a lifetime, or about a week.

Nigel Dean 653 repair and build

That's more info than I had, thanks. Yes, I'm looking forward to it, I'll put the photos up here sometime in January. I think Argos are v busy due to the number of steel frames they are getting in for repair/painting. Chris

Nigel Dean 653 repair and build

Anyone know anything about Nigel Dean road bikes? I don't know much to be honest. A friend has given me his 653 racing frame, which had some damage to the down tube (looks like corrosion may have weakened it), but the dura-ace fitted bike was used in competition a decade or more back...

what was your SECOND mountain bike?

'93 Plum coloured Orange Clockwork I think I paid £265 for the frame/forks and put mostly DX on it. Twas a truly great bike, and the skinny skinny forks absorbed so much noise. Shame I sold it to someone at work and see it most days, bah.... Tange infinity - ahhhh

    Work bikes

Superb. Now I remember, my concorde(above) had it's drop outs replaced by them in about 1989!

    Work bikes

    - good to see an Overbury's - Are they still going? And continuing the Bristol theme: My Concorde mid/late eighties road bike, resprayed a few times now, and in its latest incarnation, the heaviest singlespeed know to man. A few choice bits of Dura-ace (levers and rear hub) a...

Trying to find a Fuquay frame...

Glad someone else remembers these! Sorry, can't help locate yours, but that green one^^^ reminds me of my Fuquay CMR with Gun-metal grey fade into racing green (top/bottom). It's been ages since I thought about my old Fuquay. Which was repainted by Argos in Bristol. They even made new...
