What sort of saddle for early 80's Ti Raleigh Team replica?

The 1982 Team Replica came with a ISCA Tornado saddle in black suede. I know because I have the catalogue. I also owned the Gran Sport at the time with the same saddle. Brooks Pros were on 70s Team Replicas. PS how about a pic? :)

    Mavic MA40 rim problems

Try using washing up liquid for lube. MA40s werent around when folding tyres were invented. The first folding tyre was the Michelin Bib TS in 1983. That was before the MA2/40 if I recall correctly.

So what was your first road bike?

My first proper road bike was a Raleigh Gran Sport in 1982 which was a fine lightweight with full Campag Nuovo Gran Sport group, I raced it as a junior until it was stolen one day which put paid to my road career along with discovering girls and guitars. I still miss that bike, it was my pride...

If I were you I wouldnt change a thing on this bike, Its a period road bike from the early 80s and a good one at that! Your dad knew his onions when he bought it way back when. These things are becoming collectable big time lately and a Carlton too, probably one of the last. (Didnt Raleigh own...

Rebuilding a Basso. Advice needed on shifters and gears.

Does Campag make downtube shifters anymore? I think youll have to go with Ergo brifters instead, unless old fashioned friction DT shifters will work with a 9 speed block? Personally I wouldnt bother with friction.

Thanks for your compliments guys, In answer to your Q's, its not the original paint, it was British racing green originally, the previous owner had it painted in this pearlescent light blue, I was going to get it resprayed back to original but to be honest I quite like it this colour. I have...

Hello to all, I stumbled upon this site by accident and like what I see, so I thought I'd say hi and show my bike in case anyones interested. :D Its an Ernie Clements early 80's? 531 pro frame, Campag SR everything apart from 90's Record rear mech, Modolo Pro brake levers, MKS pedals. Mavic...

    SAD BIKES.

I agree, the craze for turning decent classic road machines into garish trendy Shoreditch fixies really ticks me off. Its like the banger racing scene in classic car circles destroying prospective classics. I rescued an 80s Ernie Clements from ebay a few years ago before things got ridiculous...
