    Raleigh Equipe rebuild

Re: Update on the Equipe rebuild! The bike has been in the workshop all winter waiting for the sunny season. I found the drop bars very uncomfortable, always having sore hands and never being comfortable. I have fitted bull horn bars to my Banana and they are superb, much more comfortable and...

    Shocking braking in the rain!

A quick update on this. The bike has been hanging in the workshop, so no riding was done during the winter! I replaced the pads with the ones with leather strips. Went out yesterday in the dry, but happened upon a deep puddle...the brakes were just as bad after getting wet. So I think this one...

New winter hack - Raleigh Banana

Re: Quick update. I found the original bars very uncomfortable on the hands and wrists, braking was always difficult having to use the drops to brake properly. I have just bought some bull horn bars and brakes, I had to get new tape and cables as well...but it works a treat. I find it a lot...

Those handlebars look bizarre, but comfortable. How do they rate on a longer ride? Bike looks great BTW!

New winter hack - Raleigh Banana

Re: Re: Hi Pat, is measures 23.5" from middle of bottom bracket to top of seat post. I might do a full refurb in the summer, but will keep it scruffy for now, the mud and salt would ruin a new paint job and I wouldn't want to ride it! Gunter.

New winter hack - Raleigh Banana

Re: Suicide levers will go when I get some new levers with hoods ;-) I do want to respray the forks, be a cheap rattle can job but good enough to match the aethetics of the bike :-)

New winter hack - Raleigh Banana

Just got myself a bargain on eBay, an old banana with lots of new bits. I have given it a good going over, fitted a new set of mudguards and even managed to bodge an old carrier for the commute to work. The carrier didn't have the right brackets, so I popped into Halfords and found some...

    Team Banana front forks

All, I am looking for a replacement set of front forks for my newly acquired Raleigh Banana. The previous owner replace the damaged forks with a pair from another bike and the brakes can't quite reach now! Paint condition unimportant as I will respray them anyway. Thanks in advance...
