Thanks all. The park tools site helped. Back to stopping terribly, as opposed to not at all

Anyone near Tomorden/Hebden that can help with cantis?

My god. I think if I try or one more minute to set up my cantilevers, I may have a stroke. Is there anyone localism that could show me the secret please? Reward will be by means of not seeing a grown man smash his bike with tears streaming down his face

    Retro Bike as main squeeze?

Yeah, setting up the canti's is a proper nightmare. I'm also thinking that the tyres on the bike (modern continentals) are way to fat. OK for when it's reasonably dry, but I think they'll get clogged up in the chainstays really fast when it's muddy. Any recommendations from anyone regarding...

    Retro Bike as main squeeze?

Well, currently bashing some trails with my clockwork. To be honest it seems fine. The only areas I'd really like to be able to improve the performance would be the forks (old Q21s not really delivering much), and the brakes. The canti's aren't right brilliant to be honest. I remember them being...

    Retro Bike as main squeeze?

I'm sure this has been asked before so I'll apologise up front. How many are riding 80s/90s bikes as their main off road bike? I am planning to get back into riding after a 15 year break, and will be riding my 90s clockwork. Went out for a blast (more of a trundle) yesterday and it felt good...

Anyone remember them? I used to lust over the ad pics of them in MBUK. That lovely light blue frame. Anyone have one?

    Let the advice commence

The Orange P7 in the classifieds at £175 is a crazy good deal IMO. Since joining here, I'm genuinely shocked at how cheap the bikes of my youthful dreams are nowadays. I'm sure they were nearly a grand back in the day. Clockwork's always a popular bike that can be found on here or ebay for...

Please help...washer is threatening my Raleigh Mustang!

Can't offer any assistance on the bb. What I can tell you though is that my mates older brother had one when he was 16, but lost it in a pub fight to our geography teacher. He had to watch him ride it into school every day lol

Question about the Spring Kit for Quadra 21r

Re: Hi fluffychicken, I remember riders saying that they had seal issues, and loss of oil. If that's not actually the case and old Mags are perfectly serviceable, then that would be cool, as they were my dream fork as a kid.

    New member - 94 Clockwork

HI there Groovy. Yes she does need a bit of love, but I don't think I'll be going for a restoration, I really just want a good bike to get back out on. Used to do a lot when I was younger, and now want to get back into it. Spoke to a couple of LBS and they seem fine with the idea of straitening...
