the wedge is still in there, I just need the mechanism to tighten it...or a picture of it...

another option would be to make a slit in the seat tube in the front and put a normal collar on there...but if i can i would rather not...

purchased an aluminum frame off ebay. came without the seatpost binder. never seen this type. frame has a little piece loose and when you tighten the binder it presses against the seat tube... what is the name/type of this? it is a research dynamics coyote alu 5

If i use my 1 1/8 threaded forks and quill stem the reducer fits in the frame without any cups correct? and then the cups fit into that with the bearings? I am just trying to understand how the reducer works...

Rebuilding a Marin Eldridge for my niece...she is a tall 16 year old...I need wheels and a crank, but I really want to make it different but not too flashy. I will be sticking to the original paint colour for a 1992 but i would like to put on a set of street tires...not slicks but not to knobby...

does the size of crank change depending on the size of the frame, or all they all the same size from the largest to the smallest frame?

Sure thing... I say powdercoat...but it just might be too pricy for now....not sure yet...sigh.
