    Holdsworth

Re: Holdsworth model That makes perfect sense. And having checked the CB & Holdsworth catalogues of 85/86, it looks like the super Dalesman was the only road bike fitted with canti rather than centre pull brakes. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

    Holdsworth

Hi all. Picked up an old Holdsworth road bike with Ron Cowan on the top tube, no model name that I can find. Not sure if he was a rider for Holdsworth at all, but I see Colin Lewis had his name on his Holdsworth back in the days. Lovely bike to ride, first I’ve come across with an Orbit 2x...

    Specialized serial number

Re: Ah, that's a pity. I do actually have a pair of Specialized rigid forks from a later model stumpy, think a 95 rigid. They are 425mm, as well as another chromo set around 415mm so will have to play with them and see how it goes. Many thanks for the advice.

Re: Specialized model Hi, thanks for that info. It's definitely steel, no extra gussets or anything. I want to make use of a set of carbon forks I already have, which are 445mm crown to centre, which I think equates to an 80mm suspended fork. Assuming it is either the Stumpjumper or Sj FS in...

    87 Specialized Hardrock

Re: Thanks. Yes, it's basic but smooth on the road.I was surprised how well the shifters work, but its probably not been used enough to wear anything out yet.

    87 Specialized Hardrock

My latest find at reclamation yard. Looked a bit rough initially, lots of surface rust, perished tyres etc. Brakes were left lever front, right rear. Add in the San Francisco bike shop sticker on it I guess it's previous owner brought it over at some point. Cables, brake blocks, tyres and seat...
