Re: Interesting stuff, I can see no evidence of an oiler hole having been filled in and it doesn't have semi wrap over stays so I guess that rules cordon bleau out.

I still haven't managed to get a definite i.d. on the frame. Thanks for the post, some very useful information there.

    Holdsworth and nervex pro lugs

Vagner fork crowns seem to have been in use from the 60"s onwards so maybe this at least gives an earliest date of manufacture. I have been trying look for head badges with holes that match those on the headtube (58 mm). So far I have found holdsworth, claud butler and viking to be the same...

    Holdsworth and nervex pro lugs

Re: I have been trying to identify a frame which I believe may be a holdsworth. The classic lightweights website mentions that holdsworth used nervex lugs on the cyclone and hurricane models in the late 50's which had spearpoints added. I was wondering whether that was always the case.

Re: Re: I think it will be hard to pin it down, it doesn't seem to have any specific features. A chap at L'eroica last year thought it may be a Viking but they had six figure numbers it think.

I'm in Stoke on Trent and the frame was bought from an ebay seller in Macclesfield who didn't know the maker. I have emailed Ellis Briggs with pictures but they say it's not one of theirs. I thought it may be a Holdsworth built Claud Butler but just a guess.

I'm trying to identify the origin of this frameset bought on ebay last year. If has Nervex pro lugs and bottom bracket with a four figure serial number and campagnolo rear drop outs. The gap between the holes for the head badge is 57mm.
