    Thanks a million Keith, Terry - I feel closer to the bike already :-) As you can see it has a ton of paint on it - Should I go for a full shotblasting? How would I know if any parts were originally chromed? Who to entrust with a respray? Cheers Mike

    Re: it has a fixed gear. Therefore in MY universe, it can justifiably be called a fixie. What you do in your own universe is entirely up to you sir.

    Re: Thanks Griff - OK, I've added a bunch of close-ups to the folder. There's a lot of paint on the BB but the 'CAR' and 'British' are very clear. Would this survive a shotblasting intact? no sign of rust anywhere. Cheers Mike

    Help identifying Dawes - Galaxy? Super Galaxy? year?

    Hi all Another inherited bike I'm going to do up - I suspect with the 600/Arabesque 600 front, this is 1977-78? was the only difference between Galaxy and super Galaxy the kit spec? if so, was this a Super Galaxy? I'm not 100% convinced the SR chainset is original. Dropbox piccys...
