    alpinestars 1990 catalogue scan.

That Cro-mega DX is the one I had!! I have been trying to find pics of it for ages. All I get are the elevated chainstay ones. Anyone here got one? I sold mine way back in 82' I think?

Brand new New M738 front mech....

After a rebuild of my Orange Clockwork (93' XC Pro model, shown in the Citrus thread) the final hurdle was the now sadly unsuccessful attempt to revive the original XC Pro front mech. After realising there was no way I had the skill to free up a rounded off and seized upper limit screw, I...

8spd to 9sdp.What's the min I can get away with ?

Hmm, interesting. I decided to stay 8 speed as wanted to keep XC pro shifters. Have you considered the Sram cassettes? The ones I have used are very good, okay there is no 'spider' type XT cassette but they last fine. I ended up with 9 speed chainset and chain with 8 speed cassette, works well.

    TV Licencing...Quite clever really

Say, someone had been paying for a tv license all his life, and never meant to forget to pay it for about 10 months and only just realised after reading he didn't have one.... Could this person buy one next week and not have to pay for the previous month, or would he have to pay for the previous...

Whats the Oldest Most Retro MTB/ATB You Own ?

One old bike which I wish I had but don't is a Fisher CR7. I always remember it being the first 'Superbike' I ever saw in MBUK. I have an idea it was about 2k, does anyone have one?

Alpinestars Al mega or cro mega build

Just a bit OT but I was wondering if anyone had pics of the non-e-stay cro-mega dx (yellow front)? I used to have one and can only find pics of the elevated version. Cheers.

    BB

Does anyone have any old square taper bottom brackets lying around for a 93' Orange clockwork? Trying to cut costs as now jobless! If not where is CRC still the cheapest or are there any other places with deals on these things?

    My Clockwork BB

I need (badly) to replace the drivetrain on my Clockwork and will end up getting a new one as I need a reliable and lasting unit for the winter commute. Only problem I have is that I am unsure as to whether the new hollowtech cranks and BB's will fit in my 93' Clockwork frame or do I have to get...

    Project No. 1: Alpinestars Cro-Mega XT '1992 meets 2008'

I used to have a Cro-mega DX (yellow and white) and I remember when it got delivered. My parents left a note on it saying 'Do not open till we get home', bearing in mind I saved up for it I was gutted. However, being 14 or so I did as I was told and just spent the rest of the afternoon gazing at...

    I have sinned............

I have only just joined this forum and have many confessions to make after seeing some of the kit on your bikes. In the last 18 months I have thrown out, Ti Onza pedals (didnt think it was possible to get replacement cleats) XC Pro microdrive front hub (I think), original SPD's, XC pro...

    Orange Clockwork XC Pro

Well, here she (in a better state than currently!) and is used every single day rain or shine. I bought it from Neil Walton cycles in Didsbury 15 years ago as a Clockwork XC pro with all the microdrive stuff. That really was a nice groupset but has been replaced over the years. However, I...
