I've recently been given what is marked up as an ALLIN but im not too sure. There isn't a frame number on the left chainstay, I think it's got Nervex lugs and it's got a revited Allin badge on the headtube. The only numbers i can find are on the BB shell and is 1812. Couple of pics below Any...

Re: Just taken a few pictures.... it's a 12 speed, I think a touring judging by the forks. But I haven't seen one with those black plastic cable clips on the top tube. chris

Will get more photos tomorrow, just had a quick look out in the garage for numbers by the top of the seat tube and I saw NK20-23737. So Nottingham July 1982 I think.... is there anyway of finding out what the 23737 means ?

having done some reasearch myself I believe when peter cobb retired, frames were still made at the shop but by ray moore, maybe he would of tried to copy peter cobbs wrap over stays but still badged them as Allin's? chris

Hi I've got an early eighties Allin bike that I'm planning to sell. It's got a couple of rust patches coming through just below the rear calliper bosses. Now is it worth rubbing back and trying to paint match just to sell the bike ? Chris

Re: I made a point of going to the garage to get a picture of the wrapover stays on the allin as pictured. It turns out that they don't meet so i'm assuming it's one of Peter Cobb's last for the company although it doesnt have a signature anywhere on the frame? chris

right, the hole in the frame is 14.2mm ID. The bearing is a 6000BS so 10mm ID.

Now that its one I haven't got.... That bolt cannot be that harder metal due to the fact it would wear the frame so much over time it'll ovalise the hole in the frame, there must a sacrificial bush in the frame to stop that.... chris

twain, i've had a look through your photobucket pictures of main pivot. I haven't got the pivot bolt but is there anything that goes in the frame around the pivot bolt ? cheers chris
