It has a 5 digit number on the rear left dropout. Stamped in a similar way to yours which is a 5 digit and 2 digit on the bb, but I suppose that means nothing. It is a shame as the frame too big for me at 23", so maybe I will sell it. Most of the paint has come straight off with a wire brush!

Please don't move to facebook! Try and keep it on Retrobike, or a wordpress blog, but never ever facebook, it has got to be the worst site in the world! In fact I have it blocked on my router to stop my kids going on there. I have another frame from the same place - do you recognise it at all...

Although the bike is beautiful, I think it is a size too big for me, I normally ride 53 and a 54cm. Not too mention a daunting project. I think it should go as I am apprehensive about riding such an old bike that I cannot maintain myself and my missus would not appreciate it on the lounge wall...

Thanks for the the info, but I don't think this project is for me. It looks like it has been standing in the rain for years. The chrome is all but peeled off the forks. It measures 56cm c-t. here is a link to are some more pics, sorry I cannot seem to embed an imgur album...

An interesting twist to this, I think I may have the road frame that was made for WelshKiwi. It is in a very sorry state, and I am wondering if it can be resurrected.
