    Explosif 1992

Loved that colour, my first MTB that model (Explosif Pro was my second)

    Mystery titanium frame

Bit hard to tell with the paint but the bottom bracket junction does look a bit like tig welding, but other bits like brake bosses look like very blobby brazing. Someone who knew how to do the former but not the latter perhaps.

I d on this ti bike

I think the frame is aluminium. The stem is ti - has that grey/bluish-silver ti colour and neat little stacked TIG welds. The frame's pure silver is much more like polished aluminium and the welds look like ground down big blobby MIG welds (ti can't be MIGed).

DBR Axis TT / Suntour XC Pro

That's the same top-pull I sourced BITD when I redid my Explosif Pro for top-tube routing and other stuff. I was taking my LBS word at the time, but that is what I was told was the XC-Pro part.

    Time Atac Clipless Pedals

I'll take (and keep) the XC Pros for £50 should you wish. Great pedals - designed for toe clips obviously. Those ATACs look nice too, they work fine in my experience although I prefer riding in toe clips..

    Tange bike..

Drop-outs look right as well as frame shape. Top-tube cable guides are all wrong, but they are on mine too (came with a paint job on mine BITD, altered the layout to the more practical or at least fashionable routing). Doesn't look like one with any fancy tube shaping.

    It's a Kona isn't it?

    Kona Explosif or what ever

For what it is worth my 18" 1992 Explosif Pro needs a 26.8 seatpost. The 27.0 Syncros I just bought as part of a plan to get it back together again will only go in a few inches and then jams, and calipers confirm it's just under 27mm

1992 Kona Explosif - aka Kelly

Rest of it is very lovely indeed, but so not designed for suspension height at all

1992 Kona Explosif - aka Kelly

You need to take those massive forks off Kelly and experience the real ride.

Is it right to be scared of a bike ?

That's the feeling I missed. Not donkey, bolting horse.

Retro Vs Modern – The Cross Country Mountain Bike Race

Which was more fun? Neither was faster than a wing-suit.

Is it right to be scared of a bike ?

My first real bike was a Cindercone (metallic khaki-ish green - 89? 90?), that got stolen and replaced with some saving by an 1992 Explosif Pro in a sell-off at the end of the year (got it for £700 from an LBS after price matching a national but without noticing or being told they or Kona took...

    MORATI Titanium Fork

Damn, these would have gone a long way towards rebuilding my stolen one. If purchaser wants to sell on, second in line for sure.

Ibis Titanium with Kona P2 Titanium forks??

Re: Re: Lightly used after the v-brake rebuild, frame surely had an earlier build on it?
