Only slight problem is I lacquered it and it put a brilliant shine on it. Then 2 weeks later micro cracks 😪😪😪 have appeared in the top coat. So I'm going to continue to reassemble and either live with it or wet spray it .

Maybe one day I'll take it as I go regularly but it currently lives in Nottingham.

Thank you...I love the frame . Its not high end but hand made so i couldn't see it get scrapped. I was thinking rust at first, but it seemed to flow from some of the joints so I suspected flux leftovers.

My 1978 dawes with 90's components . Saved from being scrapped at great Yarmouth. Someone had previously updated all the 70's components except for the brake calipers, dated 1978 . it had obviously been someone's pride and joy but they'd fell out with it for some reason possibly due to the paint...

Looks like a 79 frame. Good one to with sloping crowns and half chrome forks.

Echelon has clamp on rear cable guides. I have a 78 echelon and that frame is mighty similar.

Hi you're right.it's a dawes.it is stamped into the rear dropout. It doesn't seem to be a galaxy or any other popular model.No bottle mounts or braze on guides except 2 underneath before the crank.
