1978 Gazelle Champion Mondial AA Build

Re: Re: Thanks. Yes I will take it out for a ride when the weather is nice. I'm looking forward to remembering what a steel frame bike rides like.

1978 Gazelle Champion Mondial AA Build

Re: Re: Share some pictures when you do. I've really enjoyed building this one up and I am happy with the results. It's nice building a bike for once that doesn't cost thousands.

1978 Gazelle Champion Mondial AA Build

Cheers. I have enjoyed building it. The hoods are on the way and then all that remains is a wheel true-up, amber wall tyres and retro bottle cage.

1978 Gazelle Champion Mondial AA Build

Hello Everyone This is my first retro road bike project. I have built many, many bikes over the years but never really ventured into a retro road bike build although I have owned and raced on many different road bikes for nearly 20 years. Anyway, I've started my classic bike collection :D...

Decissions, decissions - which classic road bike to purchase

The search is over! I have purchased a Gazelle from HerrJ on LFGSS. The frame is too big but the rest is perfect for a project build once I find a suitable frame. https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/285 ... nt12953807

Thanks for the links. Sadly the gazelle's are all too short. I need around 56cm top tube. I do like the look of the Jan Jassen listed on here. Never heard of them before though.

Decissions, decissions - which classic road bike to purchase

Thanks for your input. How does the Merckx ride? I started racing in the late 90's so my desire for a classic bike is a bit older I also quite fancy the Eroica one year so pre-87 is needed. This is looking very tempting; http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 83&alt=web I know it's...

Decissions, decissions - which classic road bike to purchase

Re: Yes I have indeed. In fact it's that got me thinking about Alan. Frame is too small unfortunately. I will need a 56 or 57cm top tube ideally.

Decissions, decissions - which classic road bike to purchase

Re: Thanks for the reply. No particular reason why I choose those brands, I've just seen really nice examples of them during my googling. I do like Merckx and Colnago for that matter. De Rosa is certainly an option alhtough I haven't seen one for sale near my budget. I will get the wanted...

Decissions, decissions - which classic road bike to purchase

Hi Well I have been a competitive racing cyclist for many years and I've owned and still own quite a few bikes. Until now I haven't really considered owning a classic road bike but for some reason I now find myself spending many hours searching the web for that next bike. So far, I am torn...

Thanks but I am really hoping to get 172.5mm. I find 170mm too short.

Wanted: Campagnolo 172.5 crank arms & BB

Hi I am currently building up an old track frame as a single speed road/commuter bike and I would like some Campagnolo crank arms 172.5mm and I'm not too bothered about chain rings because I will be fitting a single 42 or 44 tooth ring. Older 80's/90's style preferred but will consider others...
