    1993 Team Marin

My original race bike, a 93 (I think) Team Marin with Pace RC35AB forks isn't getting ridden. Headset has been replaced with silver Chris King one. new Rear hub and rims due to wear. Anyone interested ? This was taken about 4 years ago - it's had a little bit more wear since

South & West Midlands Chat and rides

I can't make a ride this side on the New Year but would be up for something after that. I don't mind a road ride (if I can ride my new boardman roadbike) otherwise happy with a retro ride. I'm hoping to get out to Cannock for the Xmas ride - should be a hoot. Dave

South & West Midlands Chat and rides

I went out this afternoon on my own around Warwick (about 20miles) and it was as pleasant as it can be when it's chucking it down and blowing a gale. Let us know when you can make it over and I'll try and get out/re-arrange the usual 8am ride.

South & West Midlands Chat and rides

The three routes that we ride are here: The long 25 mile one The medium 16mile one (19 for me)The shorter loop with the longest climb in the area and the option to do it twice :-)

South & West Midlands Chat and rides

I'm based in Warwick and ride pretty much every Sunday with a mate. We meet at 8am at Warwick Police station and do one of 3 loops - 15, 19 or 25miles. All the loops are west and south of Warwick and they mix up road sections and interesting bridleways. I have a '93 Team Marin which...

    Why do you 'do' Retrobikes?

I didn't get into retrobikes - I bought a Team Marin when it was new in '93 and have loved riding it ever since. I only realised how 'retro' it was when doing Mayhem on it a couple of years ago people commented on it. To me it's just been the only bike I wanted to ride and there was no reason...

    Headset help

I had (I think) a similar problem a few weeks ago. I had the LBS do some work for me on my 93 Team Marin. The headset had cracked so decided to fit a Chris King in white (looks good) However the low height of the Ritchey Logic headset meant that the steerer tube ended up way too short - I...

    Why no love for Marin?

I love my Team Marin - so much so that every time I've ever thought about getting a new bike I can't justify it as I'd always want to ride the Team. It's light, responsive and looks great - even 13 or so years on. I think the Team is a special bike though - it was at the time and models...

    Marin Team Marin year?

I think you may well be correct in thinking it is post 96. I've got an early one 94/5 and they only came in silver or titanium of course. Dave

    Marin 'Team Marin'

Here is my Team in MM setup with Crud catchers and AyUps. Most of it's original apart from wheels, saddle and the RC35's of course. The BB has some play in it and I was looking to get it replaced but can't seem to find a LBS that has a tool to remove it. It still rides well and I didn't...

The 'Introduce Yourself Here' thread II

Great stuff I love mine to such an extent that I don't really consider it to be retro. It's as light anything you can get now and is so responsive to ride. I notice your profile says you're in Leeds/oxford. I spend most weekdays working in Leeds and have thought about bringing the Team...

    Marin 'Team Marin'

I've also got a Team which I've owned since new. I need to dig out the receipt to find out the exact year but I think it's 95. The team came with all XT equipment if I recall correctly - mine is as original apart from the forks (I put RC35's on when I bought it so I still have the original...

Mountain Mayhem 2008 - did you see retrobike there?

Hi Guys, I saw you then when I came over with my Team Marin and RC35 forks to say hi. Thankfully it took me around without a hitch. Cheers Dave
