BoTM September 2013 - The Poll

LOL I hated Klein simply because the owners wanted suspension on theirs. The Klein due to the way the head tube assembly was made it was a real B*tch to get them on. Also cost more too. One customer wanted a Rock Shox SL on their Klein. I must admit they looked good on the black color.

Show me your Tioga Disc Drive equipped bikes!

Here is my Slingshot with a Tioga Disk. I also have a fishlips cycles with a clear disk I'll have to pull it out and get a picture of it too.

WANTED - TIOGA DISK DRIVE WHEEL

How much are you willing to pay? I know where a few are around here. One also happens to be the clear Tioga version and the one I have on my Slingshot I might be willing to sale it. Check it out in this months Mountain bike of the Month contest for September. Taylor

Mavic sunset, hope, Klein & Cook bros

Re: A wheel, no more, no less (opinions please) I have some of those spokes on a hope rear hub. I too went with the blue spoke nipples. Mine were not twisted though just a two and three cross pattern for the rear. Those spokes are hard to come by even over here. Union made them for a bit the...

BoTM September 2013 - The Poll

Indeed that Lotus is just beyond cool and such rare machine but I'm torn between that and Emperor Dark´s SLINGSHOT 1991. I only wish I lived closer to see all the awesome bikes over there and do rides with you all. Sadly very few people I know out here take the time to restore them as much as I...

    2003 Slingshot Big-Shot SS

Turned out really well. Do you still have the bike? Lately they seem to be getting popular again. So much so that the price on a vintage frame is close to what is was new in the day. Mine was $750.00 without a fork. I've ridden mine hard in races and another almost 20 years just on the trails...

    2003 Slingshot Big-Shot SS

I wish that when I bought my Slingshot frame I would have just added the extra $50 I could have a rigid fork. As such since I knew I was going to race on the bike I passed. Every so often I am tempted into turning mine into a single speed fixie.

    Slingshot

Very nice. I like the red its been a long long time since i've seen it in that color. You can't ride one of these and not like talking to people. On a ride that would take an hour turns into triple that simply because of all the questions people ask about the bike. ;)

    1992 Klein Rascal 22"

Nice set of Cooks Cranks. It was between them and Grafton I always wanted to get. But the XTR cranks just worked well and took and continues to take abuse.

    my christmas-Slingshot 2012...

Very well done! Now to clear up some things about the bike. One, yes it actually rides and is stiff. The only place where is flexes is right where it is suppose to at the dogbone. The plastic hinge area on the top tube. They climb very fast and also work better then a typical mountain bike in...

BoTM September 2013 - Nominations if you please

Sling-shot bike with full XTR and Rock Shox Mag 21's. The bike rides with a Tioga Disk wheel and the Trispoke for light trails and around town. The Trispoke front wheel is swapped with a Ringle for heavy off road riding to limit side to side flex. This is the main reason the wheel was only...
