Re: OK...so it works with a M750 - the freewheels are compatible and the mount is the same (the M750 freewheel is 2mm wider and will allow mounting some 9 gear cassettes, which are too wide for the M950 freewheel). Only thing you need to do is change the freewheel-side cone and seal b/c its...

Re: Exactly right - the crown is actually removable, the stanchions have the same diameter, BUT the spacing between them is much wider on the old Manitou 3...see picture attached. Thanks all for the comments. Ernst
