Indeed, the adaptor seemed to the right solution. From there you can fit a standard sealed BB bearing unit. No more wobbly pedal axle!

Ha yes… 2x4 works for lots of things! Actually I meant for the lock nuts and adjusters on the outside!

Shimano or jagwire would be fine. Shimano do nice Pre-lubed SiS cable. They are slightly different diameter so get gear (4mm)to fit gears and brake (5mm)for brakes!
