    Judy SC 1997 refurbish

A friend of mine is currently restoring an old Alpinestar. This very bike fork (Spring VLS) is shot beyond any chance of recovering, due to spare parts lack. He's asking me if a '97 NOS Judy XC ( the cream/red one) would be a worthy candidate, and what he should be aware of. Since it's my...

1997 Volvo Cannondale Super V DHF - Missy Giove Race Bike‏

this is AWESOME!!! At the time, I was a sucker fro everything C'dale ( I rode to quasi-destruction a 1996 superV Active), Missy was my idol. The fact that this is practically unobtanium does make it uber-special. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Hope Big 'Un 20mm QR Axle...Or Not

Dynati, by looking at a bulb exploded view ( bulb should stand for Big Un Little Brother, in rather typical Hope-esque lingo) i became persuaded that the two bottom axles in your last image are QR rear Bigun axles. If so, they would not suit me: i'm currently looking for a way to convert my Qr...

A stupid Magura gustav M mount question

Re: Hi dhwego, I dare saying that an adapter should be OK, given that you will not exceed your fork's maximum allowed rotor size. Once there were different adapter for Magura Gustavs: http://www.bike-mailorder.de/out/pictur ... -31003.jpg The three lowermost were PM adapters, for different...

    Armageddon days are here (again!!)

Re: @downhillwego: thanks a lot for the info, i've seen the Armageddon on sale by Chr1sb, what a beast! I will try and see if I could get someone to fab me some stainless copy of the linkage plates. @mindmap : yes, i was fully aware about the obsolescence of this type of bike. As I told...

    Armageddon days are here (again!!)

Downhillwego, I paid what in my mind was a fair price.... whatever that would mean. I know that the market value of this beast approaches ...... well, let's see,..... almost 0 But it's been more an homage to my youth's myth than anything else. The inserts are OK: changed the bearings, and...

Hope Big 'Un 20mm QR Axle...Or Not

Re: Hope Big 'Un 20mm QR Axle...Or Not Speaking about just jacques's images, I have some front BigUn hubs. In this image, you could see what I call a Gen1 BigUn: fat hub centre, the red is QR, the silver is 20 mm. As you can see , this silver one has two top hat adapters, plus the bearings are...

    Armageddon days are here (again!!)

hi again, after a few months here is the completed bike. changes are mostly in wheels department: laced a couple of Intense Mag30 rims to hope bigUn hubs. Had also custom 9" rotors crafted for the BigUn hubs. Let's only say that the maiden ride hasn't yet been done: bad weather and...

    Armageddon days are here (again!!)

Bike is 95% complete. Missing are only the brake hoses: some German steel is on the way.... A few actual photos. As I said before, handlebar and chainguide happened to be modern items, just out of desire not to fuss with old technology for the chainguide, and will to get the front end as...

    Armageddon days are here (again!!)

Walleater, yes, the Jah drop is.. unreal. Some more parts are collecting: shock bushings, chainwheel, handlebar, chain device. For the last two i couldn't resort to using period correct parts: for the bars, I choose a flat ( keep that front end as low as you can, given the lenght of the fork)...
