    Raleigh Criterium

Not all the Criteriums had the sloping forks, some had a flat fork crown. The Criterium Triathlon I had in the early 80's had the flat fork crown whereas the one I purchased last year via eBay has the sloping fork crown. I was under the impression that they only made the Standard Criterium in...

    old vs new

Maybe it's time I went on the hunt for one  Following a lot of the comments and the fact that my son has little interest at the moment I think I will switch some of the components from the Cannondale to my Raleigh as a short term fix till I sort something more permanent.

    old vs new

Some great comments guys and tonyf39, you probably hit the nail on the head regarding the wheels. I found the difference was huge. 328isport, I like your thinking. I like the old style frame as the newer ones look odd when I am on them as I am 6'5" with a 37" inside leg. You can imagine how the...

    old vs new

I ride an early 80's Raleigh Criterium Triathlon and it is completely standard. It does everything I want it to, or at least I thought it did. My son has a 97 Cannondale CAAD3 R600 with a few none standard parts such as Miche RX5 wheels. Well I rode the Cannondale myself for the first time...

Splitting the road section into a separate site??

I have an interest in the MTB side as well as the road side so the site as it is is fine by me.

How many lives do you need out on the bike these days??!

Well point 3 shows how brainless this person is. No one pays road Tax and they haven't done for a long time as Road Tax has not existed since the late 30's. People who own vehicles pay Vehicle Excise Duty. This is now worked out on how much CO2 the vehicle emits so is actually a pollution tax...

Miguel Indurans TDF bike for auction.

This appeared in my local paper. http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/migue ... ce-6068619 20 to 30K seems a hell of a lot but I should imagine some collector won't mind paying it.

I'm new and after a Raleigh Criterium!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/raleigh-crite ... 43be812a11 Here's the standard Criterium form the same era. I know its not the Triathlon version but there isn't a lot of difference. A mate of mine had this version when I had my original blue one back in the day.

I'm new and after a Raleigh Criterium!

Can't believe you haven't got one yet. I got lucky with mine a couple of weeks ago. It was advertised as a Triumph but I knew by the photos it was a Criterium Triathlon 12 so I bid on it and won it for £34.01p. The guy selling corrected his mistake in the listing Text and said it was a Raleigh...

New member, new bike and lots of questions!

Well the enjoyable part is almost guaranteed. The not expensive bit isn't however. I got a Raleigh Criterium Triathlon 12 a couple of weeks ago for a similar price however once I had cleaned it, it revealed a fantastic well looked after bike. I had all sorts of plans to upgrade this that and...
