I have a NOS Deore DX 26.8mm post to trade/swap for either another DX one in 27.0mm or other NOS or mint seatposts to suit early 90's builds. Silver or black, even both as I have two project frames on the go.... Cheers.

The two I’ve had and one I still currently own came with shims… 29.8mm internally sized down to take the stock 26.4mm seat post. If you need a seat post, I’ve a few original ones knocking around in the work shed 👍

As mentioned yes there are current compatible options available even if a bit limited for choice. It’s just down to whether you want to maintain ithe originality or not in terms of trying to replace like for like …. There’s plenty of Deore DX floating around online via forums and eBay etc. as...

Check for play or tightness/notciy feel in the bearing areas… get the hubs, bb and headset serviced if they don’t feel right …. A good clean with fresh grease and correctly set up again will go along way, replace the bearings if need be too 👍

Take it to your local bike shop if you have one nearby…. A little service and check over won’t do it any harm and will give you piece of mind and trouble free riding for the future especially if you intend to ride it regularly again 👍.
