Hi guys,
Looking for a period correct fork for a 1997 Xizang build.
It doesn't have to look like a catalogue bike so am open to suggestions.
Rock shox, manitou, pace, use all considered but must be mint.
Inch and an eighth ahead steerer please.
Hi guys,
Ive not been about on here for a while but could do with a bit of help with a stumpy.
I'm not a big specialized fan so dont know too much about them.
Having a clear out and am about to list this frame on the bay but would like to know what year its from.
Thanks in advance:)...
Well, ATB Sales sent the replacement frame out after I spat my dummy out at them.
I got fed up with them saying how great their bikes were and pushing sales of new bikes but apparently not having any in my size to replace the cracked one that they had already sold.
Miraculously, they found one...
Well I managed to crack it:(
Its covered under warranty and after waiting for a replacement in large for a while, threw a wobbler at ATB sales and have a new 1213 frame on its way.
They are even supplying a new set of forks in black so they match the new frame and all the orange finishing kit...
ATB Sales seem have a really good reputation with their aftersales and I have heard about cracks in the paint on painted and laquered carbon frames in the past.
I bought the 2 whytes new because of the 5 year cover on their frames... ;)
Not sure if its just the paint cracked but its going in for one of its free safety checks this week anyway.
I noticed it this weekend after the cannock ride with DMC.
So are you bringing that on the Exmoor weekend...?
I've got a rock guard on the Whyte and so glad I fitted it as it seems that the brake hose has worn right through it but hasnt touched the frame :)
Although, there may be bigger problems as I think I may have cracked the bottom Bracket shell....
Just a bit of an update on this.
I've done a few miles and have really m
Gelled well with the way it rides, confidence inspiring in pretty every way :)
I'm thinking of moving over to tubless tyres though and could do with a few pointers as I've never used them so any advice would be welcome.
