    So it's not retro but

Aghh. I thought the black tyre was the old one and the yellow was the new. Yes black looks better! Have seen these bikes before and always get good reviews. A set of carbon clinchers would look nice although not necessary! Bet it accelerates and climbs well. A nice steed indeed. N

Very nice. Why did you swap out the front tyre?

    Never Dull polish

Never heard of that Richard, but I will give it a try as my modern steed has been stripped to bare aluminium. I have autosol'd it but like you say it's still a little abrasive and I'm after a mirror finish (which will be great fun...or a nightmare to maintain) N

need a through axle rear wheel

I had the same problem and was advised on here to get some quality internal cam skewers. The modern external cams kept slipping. The old style skewers really do the job and the rear wheel hasn't budged a mm, even under heavy loads when sprinting / climbing etc N

    1949 Rudge Single speed

Nice! Another frame saved from the scrap heap. I have a single speed project underway at the minute. What make/model are the tyres? N

El Cheapo Runabouto WARNING: MODERNISH CONTENT!

It's probably a Thun BB. I removed mine recently (well attempted to). Unfortunately the DS cup had seized and I cranked the BB tool too hard with a 2ft breaker bar and ate through the plastic cup. Had to hammer it out and now I need the frame threads re tapped. Let me know what BB you go for...

Cycling in Lanzarote or other foreign parts

Good man! I'd fancy a similar holiday but with 2 kids under 2, travel, hotels and heat don't make sense at the minute. Who needs a foreign holiday when NI's in the high 20's! You got lucky coming back to this :) N

    Any odd questions?

I have seen them before. Most of them seem to be integrated into a rear light unit, but because this is a small unit in the centre of the bike it seems like the indicator function might be a bit ineffective (difficult for a driver to tell a left light from right when the lights are only 2cm...

The Polish Panto Butcher discovers coloured Tipex

Absolutely superb. I believe this is called "adding value". I'm trying to work out what he's done. It's a smooth crank surface but a rough paint finish. Even a course grit wouldn't leave it that dimpled. Interesting that he has 100% feedback. Words fail me. N

Please help with these TT bikes with photos this time

 Sorry - my geography isn't the best! Sure, 42/25 still requires a good turn of the pedals on the bigger hills. The steepest I have here is 11%. But it's still a manageable ratio and most double chainsets are 52 42 at the front anyway - so unless you ride a triple or a compact, most people...

Please help with these TT bikes with photos this time

Just throwing it out there, but the cheapest solution to this problem is to simply change the 52 chainring on each bike to a 42 (for example) and keep everything else as is. That's assuming the chainring is the removable type (with bolts) and you buy a new chainring with a matching Bolt Circle...
