Was ideally after amberwalls (personal whim) to go on my 1991 Proflex, got stacks of blackwalls, just wanted the proper look.

Thanks to everyone for your great replies, looks like I will have to bite the bullet if I want what im after, seems amberwall dirt tyres are still available new but on the wrong side of the world!

Hi, does anyone know where I could get some 26 x 1.9/2.1 amberwall tyres on a budget? Looking for usable dirt tyre rather than slick/semi slick. Cheers.

Hi elspedo, should make a nice little project, I've just built a '97' rift zone frame (£23 on the bay)into an xc rat bike with all my leftover bits! Took it for a ride this arvo, amazed how good the ride was (cheated with a fox rp23 shock though) : ) as for the disc brake you may need to swap...

I have a 3 speed Triumph roadster (1940s) as a rolling restoration/pub bike, this has a sprung saddle, and one smooth ride :D

Back in the day I had a USE shock post, these are still available (£45) I think,but not as good as the bikehut post (£20) I now have, don't be put off by the Halfords own brand, this is only slightly heavier than the USE post but actually works!

Depends on your riding style, I also have a bad back, ride mainly XC/trail centres and have used a sus-seatpost to take out the sting for years, on rigids and HTs
