i did mean that it was set up for v brakes rather than cantis sorry for the mix up i was just trying to help. so that would put it at 96/97 at the earliest john may know better than me what it could be. its a beautiful frame. i love the old gt's is anyone getting the ltd zaskar?
from what i know the bit on the back of the seat tube was for if you wanted to run canits they did not change it when v brakes became the norm. a beautiful bike and one that is still on my wish list.

Back in the day for me it was allways a set of onza ho cranks and perhaps a disc drive? what about you there must be lots of bits that were seen by you guys as ultimate kit?
i would really like a set of these if memory serves me right you could use a 700c wheel in a mountainbike and still get the brakes to fit, is this the case?
the dh had the re-enforced headtube so it was ok with triple clamp forks the standard sts was a thermoplastic headtube. anyway john didnt you saw one of these up at bike tech?
the serial numbers were always slightly confusing, judging by the decals i would say 96/97 but the model logo is not clear. i think the last year for that bike was 98 (wasnt it John?)
