An old friend of mine had a Saturday job in one of the cycle shops,he had to draw the shapes on the blank lugs,& file them to shape.I understand this was standard practice,right up to the 1970's.

Hi chipper,Kevin Scriven was a 'Works' rider for Hinds.My bike is one of his,he rode it for about 1200 miles on a tour of Normandy.When I met Kevin,I forgot to ask him about dates.The frame builder was Mr Bird. From the components,I would guess your bike is later than mine.

Red,Orange,whatever.SB serial number

A good alloy tig welder would sort that,I have got 4 guys that could all sort it.Would I bother repairing it?No,the machining after welding would take more time than its worth.

Do you know the paint code,or colour for Raleigh orange?

Just noticed that your legwork is a lot fancier (dead jealous) than mine.I do know that mine was built by Hinds,Kevin did tell me the name of the frame builder,I think it was Bird,or something like that.
