Very nicely done. I wish I would've had that set up on my bike for the summer riding season at North Star ski resort. Looks more like a chain tensioner than a true chain guide. I bet it still helps alot tho to keep the chain on for fast bumpy downhill trails.

How well does this chain guide work for you? I do a lot of downhill riding and bounce my chain off a bit too often. Is that a garden house?

if you go to photo shop on your computer you can make the picture smaller by % or choose a smaller ratio. Both with create a smaller file. Make a copy of your picture first tho so you can keep the original.

My old Boxxer Pros were cracked. Luckily I knew someone that's been holding onto a brand new pair of Boxxer lowers that fit the bill with minor changes. Looks freakin' awesome! Going to a little light trial riding tommorow and then 17 miles of down hill riding next weekend at Downieville...

So it looks like not all MAX BB frames have the beefier chain stays. I have seen some with the solid chain stays, but I wonder if mine along with some others have had the FSR suspension downgraded. My frame has the reinforced head tube but doesn't have the heavy chain stays.

I just tried to install a 200 mm i2i rear shock on my 99' FSR DH and it was far to big. The linkage rubbed on the shock spring and I had to compress it to even come close to mounting it. Luckly I was able to send it back. I need a 180 mm max i2i with atleast 50 mm stroke. The current i2i is...

I just bought this bike 4 months ago and the DH decal came on it. I've seen another FSR just like mine on-line in the same paint and decal scheme. It even had the same gold rear suspension linkage. I believe this is a DH model. The only difference I've seen between mine and this other 99' FSR...

Where does your bike say Max Backbone? I was sure mine was a max backbone too but haven't seen a decal with it. Just the Big Hit decal on the FSR suspension.

LOL, well I've already purchaced the 210 mm Fox Vanilla R rear shock. I've got 147 mm travel on my forks. So if this rear shock even fits with my linkage then I may need to go with a 24" rear wheel. I'll be posting a few before and after pix with measurments. BB is 339 mm, rear axel travel...

went for a hard ride yesterday and sure enough, my forks are cracked. It's so small I couldn't see it until oil came oozing out again. Gotta replace the lowers.

Has anyone tried a rear shock with 210 mm i2i with 61 mm stroke on a 99' ish FSR? It's got the upgraded gold linkage that came on the 99 FSR DH. BTW, what shocks are you guys running on your FSRs?

turns out the lowers on my forks AREN'T cracked! I pulled the decals off and couldn't find any cracks. I was getting oil from somewhere and it looked as if it was coming from under the decal. I'm stumped. I did pull off the spring on my rear shock and got more measurments. i2i is 6.5"...
