    How to date Bontrager Frames?

This is handy ..... def a race, maybe 92 or 93. Has the pulley and you can tell it originally had the earlier square decals. He actually pictures the front derailleur stops correctly, but then describes them incorrectly inversed, btw. Thanks for the resource.

urgent help - LH crank removal

You've got the concept correct. As you extract the bolt, it's shoulder presses against the insert to force the arm off. But ..... If the reason you're having issues it that the arm is seized, then you should remove the ring so that the bolt can be removed independently. Then use a proper arm...

    How to date Bontrager Frames?

Anyone know how to date the bontrager frames from the early 90's? I just bought one and it doesn't look to have any stamping at all. Also appears to have had new decals put on, so they're no help either. Thanks

    Reviving Mag 21s?

Yep, intended for a 1" ..... If nothing else, that is a creative solution that I've not seen before.

New Project that started as a single Component ........

There you go ...... I stumbled onto the frame and thought it was interesting. While reseaching discovered that it was spec'd with the revolvers, and a largely M900 kit. I had both lying around without a home so I picked it up. The original spec included a zoom stem, black zoom bar and silver...

New Project that started as a single Component ........

I WISH Here's a non-descript drop-out that is largely a clue only that it eliminates bikes with nice drops ... Ugly wasn't a hint, the hint was that logic was involved. How many bikes were factory fitted w/revolvers?

New Project that started as a single Component ........

Some of you seem to enjoy being quizzed, so ....... Bought this part a while ago without any idea what bike I wanted to use it on. By chance, I happened into an ideal candidate. Nothing exotic, but interesting none the less. Probably very easy for some of you ..... anyone care to venture a...

    '94 Alpinestars Catalog / Scans ?

In spite of tons of searching ... I cannot seem to find images for a 1994 Alpinestars Catalog. Specifically, I'm trying to find stock images of the CR D735. I picked up a frame and would like to get a look at the original fork and stock build ...... Anyone have a scan or know where one might...

    Speckled Scott Comp Racing

That seems about right. I went after an area on the underside of the downtube with some steel wool. At first it gets cloudy looking, but once the clearcoat is off the finish polishes very nicely. I noticed that all the worst corroded spots ended up being the brightest areas after going over...

    Speckled Scott Comp Racing

Here are a couple of pics ......... It actually looks pretty good from a distance, but when you get close up it has some issues. Any suggestions?

    Speckled Scott Comp Racing

Picked up a Scott Comp Racing frame and a few odd parts......... Does anyone know exactly what kind of finish this frame has? The finish looks almost chromed over the chromoly. It has tiny specks of corrosion all over. I tried a rust remover that, I think, is largely an acid, but it is...

Gravity Research Brakes? -- Help Identify Please

Got a couple of boxes of odds and ends with a frame I bought last week. These brakes were in a bag along with random pieces and parts. There is a Kona P2 fork in the lot, so I thought they might be Curve. After taking them out of the bag I could see they def weren't Curve. At first I thought...

    Dirt Research Pecos

Getting close to tying things up here ......... Started to run cables and got some grips. The turbo is not meant for this build, but it will be a white saddle. I just fit the Turbo to test the concept before I re-cover the saddle that's going on ......... Plenty of other projects when I...

Cool vid- Xizang, team dyna tech, proflex and Scott evo.

Thanks for the vid! Interestingly, the Evo looks more orange than red up front. Mine is very orange and faded, but the catalog has always looked very red to me. I've always assumed the red faded to orange, but I'm not too sure now .....

Which fork is better - lawwill leader or Noleen cross link

Re: Which fork is better - lawwill leader or Noleen cross li Have always liked the idea of the RTS with a Crosslink ... considering that build myself. Nolleens front and back, but I would tend toward the earlier, alu version myself. When I was a young man ... the local shop had a set of...
