Disc brakes just look waaaaaay cooler than any canti or V brake setup. When you're riding a retrobike its really not about the last word in best anymore; just what elicits the most "that's cool" comments.

Would love to get a line on a pair of red D-1 calipers though. Couldn't find any. And if you think its hard to get AMP bits in the UK, its worse for me over here in Asia!

In the end, the brakes were sourced off eBay, from Australia. Usefully they came with some spares, and an extra pair of hubs. After a protracted period of rebuilding those D1 calipers (the caliper pistons were seized at one point), it was finally returned to me and I had the wheel decals removed...

So to make a long story short - being ultimately based in Singapore, I had arranged to have the B5 shipped along with my flight home in a bike box from New York via Tokyo to Singapore. By the end of the trip, a small box of parts consisting of the rear shock and its brake calipers were missing...

Its a B5 rear end, this is a parallelogram design as opposed to the B4's Mac strut.

A shipping mishap meant I lost some of the parts from my B5 build. Most of it is replaceable, but I need a pair of front and rear AMP calipers. Let me know if you have a set kicking around in your toolbox.
