MBUK pic of Richard Thackery wanted

The above is a good photo and I prefer the purple pace to the red but...It's not that one. Thank you anyway I am just guessing it was 95/6, 1994 he started the season on a sliver pace but switched to a red pace after the first few races...so maybe 94?

MBUK pic of Richard Thackery wanted

Massive long shot but does anyone have a photo of Richard Thackery on a red Pace in a race, it was pretty small picture, I think it was in the Zoom section in MBUK, but might be wrong. I am going to guess about 1995/1996ish, summer months. My cousin had that copy of MBUK and used to gaze at the...

    Retro bike racing

Sorry in no way do I take offence at that, at all! Very much a similar situation for me! It's more just an observation of how early 90's racing was full of the have a go heroes and now even I find myself thinking "Umm, maybe I am not fit enough?" But equally how many of us on here used to race...

    Retro bike racing

Does that matter though? Both are doing something giving it a go. Again that's whats used to be nice about early 90's racing there were loads of people just giving it ago.

    Retro bike racing

Macduro sounds good! I am in Peebles. I would be more into gravel if it was really like a retro mtb race, but most are more like good road races! Still better than being on a road but more singletrack, hiker bike and rougher roads in my mind is a 90's mtb race. Some do verge on a retro mtb...

    Retro bike racing

Ha ha! A honest but depressing reply! Surely there must be some other people on here that fancy recreating the proper old school 90's, gather in a place race, and then pretend that it never happened, style racing. Race like it's the 90's! The racing collective manage it as do the stravaing...

    Retro bike racing

Other than cannock chase, the vintage bike masters in Switzerland and the Malverns are there any other retro bike races? Or with retro categories? Vintage bike masters although obviously far away is the most appealing as it's on a retro style course. But then being in Scotland cannock and...

    MTB festival - Klosters - Sep-23

As I just motioned to your post elsewhere (atually just came here to see if anyone had posted it)...I am SO interested, it looks like a proper time machine, a chance to step back to the 90's. Time to load "modern life is rubbish" into the cassette player and find myself a retro kona...

    Peebles 1989 race route?

A bit of long shot but does anyone know/be able describe or have a map of the race route just outside Peebles from 1989? And time David Baker did? Moved here not long ago and quite fancy seeing how much slower I am compared to David Baker... And would be nice to ride the route... Not that's...

    Tim Gould back racing MTB's

Not sure if this has been done before, could find anything: But School boy like excitement to see a school boy hero racing MTB's again, I know he's been racing cross but great to see him back on a MTB and almost winning. Looking forward to the chance of seeing him race again at Cathkin braes...

show us your modern-retro crossover bikes

Re: I really like this thread, especially the Eaton and the Salsa. The OP's idea is exactly what I would like to build at some point, I don't have the spare cash or space for a proper retro bike but love the look and history of retro. To the OP having ridden a 29er rigid and hardtail over the...

    my pace rc200 refurb rebuild

Thats looks lovely, the frame is stunning. Although I would be concerned about running a 90/70mm fork on a frame that would have been designed for (unless I am mistaken) a rigid/35mm travel fork. I always found paces suited shorter of the travel options anyway let alone one that is...

flite saddle or similar, tatty, scuffed offerings weclome

Looking for a comfortable (for me!) saddle for my, make my bike look worse, project, so I can ride it to work. Flite preferable but something similar, equally welcome doesn't have to be retro either. Thanks in advance.

Wagon Wheels , Just an Inbred now!

Re: Wagon Wheels with Clockwork content New Build Good choice, I know there are a number of people that hate this bike due to it not being steel but using the clockwork name, I personally can't see the problem, I can think of loads of MTB names from the past that have "moved on" to different...
