    Bio pace in 1990?

I've done about 15k miles on my bike with Biopace over the years and never had knee problems. Fibromyalgia means I have problems almost everywhere else, but my knees are fine :D I find the oval effect most noticable when using the smallest ring. Other than that, I don't notice it, but that...

    Bio pace in 1990?

It's on my 1989 Raleigh Appalachian which I believe was the 1990 model so I imagine it was. Biopace parts are not easy to get hold of these days.

Thanks, good to know. Biopace chainrings are as rare as hen's teeth by the looks of things.

    XT Biopace Rings and Cranks

Keeping an eye out for a centre ring and came across this. It says only light wear on the chainrings. Take a look at the centre one. I'd hate to see heavy wear. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Shimano-Deore-XT ... 4843a65ee4

    Raleigh MTB ID

Doesn't sound as though it's worth it so. I thought it might be a lightweight frame and have a Shimano groupset. Thanks guys.

Had a look at the photo a bit closer and have come to the conclusion it's only fit for a skip.

    Raleigh MTB ID

Any idea what this is? May be interesting at the price if only for parts. 18 speed suggests that it's an early bike (if that's accurate). http://www.adverts.ie/bikes/raleigh-18- ... rs/1230031

    1989 Raleigh Appalachian

Did a bit of work on her today. I'll post some pictures shortly. The tyres seem perfect. I gave them a good once over and there are no signs of cracks or bulges. I pumped them up to 60 psi and they are holding well. The brake blocks are also very good. No signs of cracking either and...

    1989 Raleigh Appalachian

Thanks. Yes, I intend doing the tyres, tubes and cables. The bike has about 20k miles on it even though it hasn't been used in some time. The cassette or chain have never been changed. Not something I need to rush in to, but will do it in the medium term. In terms of the groupset. I...

    1989 Raleigh Appalachian

Hi, I've owned a 1989 Raleigh Appalacian from new. It has been lying idle for the past 13 years and I want to get it back in action. Any suggestions as to what I need to address will be much appreciated. I'll post pictures shortly. Cheers, Ken.
