Lucky #7 (Boulder Ti Peacock Fade, full photos on PG2!!)

Re: I've strayed from this site a bit lately - but when I stumbled on this thread, I remember why I should visit more. I've been a member of the 'Boulder Club" since '93 when I got an Intrepid (4130 Cro-Mo, Marzocchi XC400s and Suntour XC-Pro) which I have since sold. But I did replace it with...

TWP HYDRAULIC Brake Levers - Help needed to attach to Magura

The TWP levers have a 14mm master piston which is the same as the HS-33s, whereas the HS-11s and HS-22s have a 16 mm master piston. (I don’t understand hydraulics but bigger wasn’t better). So one of the advantages of going to TWP levers was they had they same power as the HS-33s. I had a...

    Info on hub spacing needed.

OK thanks for that. I’ll make a rare appearance later in the Road bike section to see if it is of value to anyone. Do either of you need a 126 mm rear hub?.

    Info on hub spacing needed.

I've been cleaning out the parts box again and found a hub I’ll likely never use. It has a 126 mm spacing and takes a freewheel. Were these for early MTBs or is this a road spacing?

What has been your contribution to mountain biking.......

I'm a customer. I bought all those boutique, light weight, drilled out anno parts that were CNC’ed to within an inch of their lives. When they broke and I fell, I didn’t sue.

Frame or bits ? what makes the bike ?

I would say the frame makes the bike. I feel a pre ’97 bike with modern parts on it could it be entered into the pre ’97 BOTM. Original parts wear out and everyone upgrades their bikes if they can. Modern forks/ suspension make older bikes handle better and is just a part of the evolution in...

which part has impressed you most over the years?

Time ATAC pedals – 15 years on and still work like new. Bullseye front hub, 18 years and a couple of rims and they still just go on and on.

Torn shoulder ligaments - Anyone else done this?

I also have ruptured my AC about 7 years ago (a car turned in front of me and my right shoulder hit and shattered the passenger window). I had my shoulder strapped and taped up for 3 months plus had 3 months of physio, it was about 6 months until I got back on my bike. Thankfully I was on my way...

I knew of a girl with the surname of Hoare, after you get over the childish giggles, Hoare is quiet a common surname so not that funny. All her friends called her Pip and it was quite a while before I found out her first name. It was Philippa, that is Phillipa Hoare
