Hi. I have just been offered a Giant ATX 800 at "mates rates". ATX bikes can still be seen occasionally on the trails around Melbourne so I figure they are a solid ride for XC riding. I have Googled the ATX 800 but with very few hits. I did find what looks like the frameset on the Giant archive...

Hey, just picked up the frame (in Acid Orange). It is an LTS 1000-XC. I have look at the manuals and confirmed that it is a 1998. My question is (I couldn't work it out from the manual) what is the difference between an LTS 1000-XC and an LTS 1000-DS? Regards, Mark.

Thanks for the detailed responses. I should have posted a pic earlier, but here it is. As the top tube meets the seat post above the pivot, can I presume this is a 20"? Must agree that the LTS is "high". I am usually happy with a "L" from most manufacturers, but my LTS DH feels just a little...

Hi. When measuring an LTS for size, do you measure from the bottom bracket to a) the absolute top of the seat post or b) where the seat post meets the top bar? I'm trying to work out whether a frame for sale on eBay is a 16" or 20". Regards, Mark.

Definitely a 10mm Allen key. I went through this a year or so ago, even posting photos to show that the inside was circular, not hex shaped. I had to eat my words. Regards, Mark.

Hi. Whenever GT enthusiasts as here about LTS parts, they are directed to BETD. I have gathered that the replacement parts of offer from BETD for the LTS are actually "enhancements" rather than replacements - is this correct? I have also noted LTS replacement parts on eBay USA...
