ANY hardtail, in the right, experienced hands can be the best HT and a winner. I have seen a rider on a Schwinn Black Phantom single speed win a few amateur races in the Virginia mountains against dilitantes in $3000+ HT's, or multi-suspension, multi-speed, wallet and credit depleting eye candy...
